Dorothy Crawford Waters

Dorothy Crawford Waters, 96, died September 23, 2008. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Willie and Sallie Brooks Crawford. She lived in Savannah most of her life and was a member of Christ Church. She was a homemaker and was employed for many years as activities director at Chatham Nursing Home. Mrs. Waters volunteered for the Kicklighter School, and loved to crochet, and was a gifted gardener. Her husband, Edwin Henry Waters and son, Robert E. Waters preceded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn Waters French and Norman French of Abilene, TX; three sons and daughters-in-law, Irvin "Doty" and Nita Waters of Ellabell; George Carson and Rita Waters of Savannah; Thomas Julian and Cecile Waters of Savannah; daughter-in-law, Ouida Waters of Warner Robins; sister, Mary Etta Hendrix of Statesboro; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2008 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors conducted by the Rev. Layne Hansen, assistant rector of Christ Church.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
